2022 COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD WINNER

I’m excited to announce the winner of our annual Community Service Award, Beth Kita, LCSW, Psy.D. Doctor Kita was chosen for this award for her groundbreaking work within the carceral system, providing psychoanalytically-informed thinking and human relationship to a population that so rarely receives such a level of care. Additionally, her commitment to teaching, training, and mentoring future generations of clinicians will undoubtedly have a rippling effect on our profession and a meaningful impact on the lives of those most in need. She will receive an award of $500.

NCSPP created this award in 2005 to recognize outstanding community service by an individual or a mental health organization in the field of psychoanalytic psychology. We believe the important work of building community serves a vital role in the development of the social good, and it remains under-recognized in our field. With this award, we aim to honor those who spend their time and effort in such a critical endeavor.
