The San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis is pleased to announce that its two-year Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program (PPTP) will be holding an Open House on Wednesday, February 27, 2012, from 7:30 - 9 PM. The event will be held at SFCP's new location at 444 Natoma Street in San Francisco. We welcome all who may be interested in applying to begin courses in September 2013. 

The PPTP's central mission is to teach ways of thinking and working that will help each trainee to become a more effective, fulfilled psychoanalytic psychotherapist. The PPTP is suited both to early career therapists who want to further their understanding of psychodynamic work, as well as to more mature clinicians who wish to consolidate and expand their grasp of psychoanalytic approaches to treatment. For early career psychotherapists, the program will serve as an in-depth introduction to psychoanalytic psychotherapy. For more seasoned psychoanalytic psychotherapists, it will solidify and deepen grounding in fundamental principles.

The PPTP offers rigorous, theoretically pluralistic, carefully coordinated training in the fundamentals of psychoanalytic psychotherapy practice. Seminars and case conferences are held in San Francisco. Supervision is available locally throughout the Bay Area and in the Sacramento and Davis areas. The PPTP also provides individual mentorship to support each trainee in pursuing his or her individual psychoanalytic interests and in finding a professional home at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis. All faculty, mentors and supervisors are experienced psychoanalytic clinicians.
