Many enactments and impasses are governed by complementary, doer/done-to relations by the fantasy that only one deserves to live, only one can be right. In this presentation, Jessica Benjamin will discuss how the "moral third" might be a way to metacommunicate about this fantasy, to step out of the deep complementary structure underlying such dilemmas of harming.
