EVENT SPOTLIGHT
PSYCHOANALYTIC COUPLE PSYCHOTHERAPY EVENT
NCSPP and PCPG* present "Psychotic and Depressive Processes in Couple Functioning: A Day with Francis Grier," October 23rd, 9 - 4, David Brower Center, Berkeley.
Acclaimed Senior Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist Francis Grier, Ph.D., from London's Tavistock Center for Couple Relationships, will provide an in-depth examination of couples who exhibit an extreme paranoid-schizoid frame of mind, bordering on psychotic functioning. Dr. Grier will present clinical material highlighting differences in working with couples with an anti-developmental, near-psychotic level of functioning versus those who use psychotherapy to develop healthier relationships.
Following Francis Grier's thought-provoking presentation, Julie Friend, LCSW, will discuss Dr. Grier's paper followed by a case presentation by Dr. Leora Benioff to Dr. Grier.
