We're proud to note that this issue marks the first anniversary of IMPULSE. Little more than one year ago, the notion of an electronic newsletter connecting the diverse members of Northern Calfornia's psychoanalytic community was just a twinkle in the eye of NCSPP leaders. We hope that a year of reading IMPULSE has been as lively and eye-opening for you as creating it has been for us. We appreciate your support in making a success of this newsletter, and we continue to welcome your ideas for refinement and innovation.

Following up on last month's issue, we're pleased to say that the registration deadline for the East Bay and San Francisco Intensive Study Groups is September 8, giving you one more week to sign up. Also, we'd like to take a moment to acknowledge thePsychoanalytic Institute of Northern California (PINC), NCSPP's dedicated and valued partner in creating the Intensive Study Groups. It is exactly this type of community-minded collaboration that NCSPP and IMPULSE were founded to foster and we're grateful for PINC's partnership.

We hope you enjoy this month's issue, and we hope you'll join NCSPP to assist us in fostering a vibrant psychoanalytic community in Northern California.

An important aspect of NCSPP's current mission is continuing to bring psychoanalysis into the world and reach out to other disciplines.

The term "blog" refers to a web-based journal wherein individuals offer up their personal experiences to anyone with a web browser. The editors IMPULSE seek out local analytic candidates willing to "blog" their experience in training.
