PREOCCUPIED: A CONVERSATION ABOUT DEATH, SEX, AND MONEY

While contemporary psychoanalytic thinking encourages psychotherapists to consider certain taboos, such as sex, death, and money, many clinicians still find themselves alone with their ruminations and reveries about these topics. How explicit and graphic are these thoughts? How does the patient's reaction to death, sex, or money trigger our own?

In this panel discussion, three psychotherapists will use their experience on each topic to expand on the literature and to answer the clinical and existential questions that can preoccupy the minds of the analyst and analysand. Can the act of speaking on these topics uncover deeper truths about our connection with our patients? Join us for this discussion and see what is revealed.
