FALL MOVIE MATINEE
Clouds of Sils Maria
Join the PLC and Dr. Diane Borden for a screening and discussion of the 2014 film Clouds of Sils Maria, a French-German-Swissco-production set in Sils Maria, Switzerland, starring Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, and Chloë Grace Moretz. Following the screening, Dr. Borden will discuss the film’s themes through a psychoanalytic and depth orientation, including aging and the acceptance of life changes, the impact of technology on human relationships, merging and separation of identity, and transform- ative retreat in the sublime and in the setting of the Swiss Alps. Popcorn will be served.
(The technological difficulties encountered during the last movie matinee have been resolved in this new venue).
