A DAY WITH GIUSEPPE CIVITARESE, MD, PhD

A writer, theorist, and clinician, Giuseppe Civitarese works within the analytic field, focusing on the here-and-now of the emotions of the session and the analyst's reveries generated from the field. Expanding upon the ideas of Ferro, Dr. Civitarese advocates for the unsaturated interpretation to facilitate the patient's "necessary dream." Among his interests are a revised concept of the unconscious and the aesthetics of analytic work. Dr. Civitarese is a training and supervising analyst in the Italian Psychoanalytic Society.

Dr. Civitarese will present a clinical paper: "Hallucinosis, dreaming, and play: The analytic field and its transformations." Lee Rather, PhD, will discuss the paper, and Rachael Peltz, PhD, and Peter Goldberg, PhD, will be in conversation with Dr. Civitarese.
